Sven Sierra

Sven is a first-year MS student advised by Dr. Rajdeep Khangura in the Cereal Genetics Lab. His research focuses on gene cloning and molecular characterization of monogenic disease resistance and sterility mechanisms in wheat mutants.  

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida in 2022. After graduation, he worked in integrated pest management and indoor crop production before joining the University of Florida as a lab technician, where he gained experience in strawberry plant pathology.
