Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Forage Systems Agroecology
The Forage Extension program led by PI Kohmann uses a system-based approach to address challenges in forage production. The goal of this group is to identify management practices that will maintain or increase sustainability in the short- and long-term, reducing economic and environmental risks to producers while providing nutritious and safe food to the community. This is possible because of the diverse background and training within the Forage Extension team, further supported by collaborations within and across departments and with extension educators who serve their community in the state of Wisconsin.
