Informing best practices in agricultural systems and horticulture through Wisconsin and the world
Research and discoveries in our department inform best practices for farmers, agronomists, horticulturalists, and others involved in the production of plants for food, fuel, and fiber.
The Wisconsin Idea is our guiding principle. Ten of our faculty members are funded by the Division of Extension and work closely with a statewide network of Extension specialists, farm groups, consultants, and technical service providers. In addition, many of our faculty and staff lead public education initiatives through the on-campus Allen Centennial Garden and a variety of outreach programs serving K–12 students and the general public.
