
Dr. Finan is a sociologist studying technological systems, community, environment, and social capital. She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology and Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University, following her M.S. in Resource Ecology and Management from University of Michigan, and a B.S. in Biology and Natural Resource Management from UW-Stevens Point.
Currently, Dr. Finan works on the sociological and policy components of the Resilience CAP project exploring farmers’ values, constraints, and opportunities related to integration of practices supporting biodiversity, circularity, and perennial systems. She has a great deal of experience in survey design and analysis, as well as case study and other qualitative and integrated approaches.
