    Research Associate - Atucha/Kovaleski

My background is in climate change’s impact assessment with a focus on agriculture and climate extremes. My research interests include large data analysis, climate change projections, and climate impacts on plants growth along with the extreme events. I have experience of climate services development for the agricultural sector, modeling tree crops’ phenological stages (e.g., Grapevine and Olive), under climate change scenarios over the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Currently, I am involved in cold hardiness determination of grapevine and cranberry for budbreak prediction, at the Department of Plant and Agroecosystem Sciences, UW-Madison.

I received my PhD degree in Agrometeorology from the University of Sassari, Italy (honored to receive the university doctoral medal for the best PhD thesis). Master’s degree in Geosystem-Climate Sciences from the University of Provence (Aix-Marseille), France. Master’s degree in Climatology from the University of Shahid Beheshti, Iran (honored to receive the university certificate for the outstanding master thesis).
